Bayfield House is essentially a bed and breakfast place, but that should not bring to mind the kind of place that gives you breakfast and then throws you out for the day. The excellent breakfast is cooked to order, and eaten on the veranda. A couple of nights a week you can eat in with a menu that would put top restaurants to shame.
Trevor and Pam who run Bayfield will very happily direct you to good restaurants both nearby and a bit further away. You need to realise that eating on the west coast of Barbados can be expensive, so take their recommendations for places to go and eat seriously.
Accommodation at Bayfield House
The spacious rooms have all been named after Barbados Sugar Plantations, and you will find them large and airy. To use the words fantastic value for the money you pay would not be an understatement. One of the key things on a vacation is to have a comfortable bed, and nice bed linen, and that is exactly what you will find here.
Outside each room is a large wrap around veranda with plenty of chairs to sit on, and incidentaly but importantly the rooms all have air conditioning, ceiling fans, tea and coffee making facilities, and a refrigerator. An added bonus is complimentary WiFi connection, and a hair dryer. It goes without saying all bedrooms are ensuite.
Activities at Bayfield House
This is very much a place to relax and unwind, and you will not find the pool is crowded!! In fact you could even imagine Bayfield was your own property.
The Royal Westmoreland is a short walk away, and you can use their Indulgence Spa.
On the nearby Mullins beach you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas, and for lunch there is Mullins beach Bar and Restaurant.
Being the west coast of Barbados it is a great place to see the sunset with a rum punch in hand. Taking the local bus is an activity all by itself, but if you wish to roam further afield then car hire is essential and Trevor will organise all that for you. You can easily use the local buses to go out for dinner in the evening, and it is good to see local life on your vacation, something which never happens when you stay in a large soulless resort.
